Death row inmate "finds Christ" and might be released

RE: Death row inmate "finds Christ" and might be released
According to christian beliefs, what's wrong with executing her? She "found Christ (sic)", so she gets a pass to Heaven when she dies. Postponing her trip to the great beyond is cruel. They'd rather she live out the rest of her days in a prison cell, in constant temptation, than be "released from her burden" and join her god.

Again, this is according to christian beliefs.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

Oh. Well then fuck it. If I'm on death row, kill me as quickly as possible.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Yes, if she is in prison for a long time she might turn to Lesbianism.

Best to get that option off the table. Murderous killer dyke !!! My goodness gracious !!!!

They are trying to get her released from death row, not prison.
I thought you hypocrites were against the death penalty...

No, I support the death penalty for certain crimes if there's absolutely NO doubt.

Some people need to be removed from society permanently.

Other than biology, the main thing atheists have in common is a non belief in deities - yours and everyone else's.

Yes, I know they're trying to get her removed from death row, not released.

But that doesn't change the fact that there have been calls by Christian groups to actually release people who have committed murder and other vile acts simply because they conveniently found religion

I am 100% for the death penalty. Some people have long since passed having the right to thin my oxygen.

I'm against the death penalty on principle but this isn't about being pro or against, it's about special treatment given to Christian inmates. If the US wants to apply the death penalty then do it properly

Of course, in prison, the Muslims tend to target black inmates more than white people, so she probably wasn't even on their radar.

Also, so, apparently, Damien Echols can be convicted of murder and sent to death row on the evidence of, more or less, dressing in black, suffering from mental illness, dabbling in paganism, and liking bands like Metallica and Pink Floyd, and is only released after saying that the prosecution made a pretty good case, but a murderess can convert to Christianity and have a sizable movement to free her.

Nice to know the American justice system is broken beyond repair.

Let's just hope the movement holds as much water as the Free Matthew Hale movement.

Regardless of anyone's feelings on the death penalty, this is Christians asking for special application of the law because of one criminal's beliefs. It's absolutley absurd on so many levels to think that a religious conversion should affect someone's punishment that it's hard to know where to start.

No, we shouldn't execute her, but let's at least not execute her for the right reason.
