Health Care bill passed

RE: Health Care bill passed
All I can say is I told you so. I will let what happens in this country in the next few years speak for itself.

I'm far more worried by what has happened in this country in the prior 30 years. Ever since that senile old fuck Reagan it has been a steady diet of the rich-getting-richer and the poor getting it up the ass.

I never did see the appeal of Reagan. I can't understand why people say he was a great president.

Well I'm against the government controlling any industry, especially if it has nothing to do with the protection of citizens and the upholding of civil rights.

Governments have three duties; to protect the lives of citizens, to protect the liberty of citizens, and to protect the prosperity of citizens. The government should provide free healthcare for citizens as a civic duty; they should not however have any control over the automobile industry or banks. A direct link cannot be made between any of the duties of government and the control of industry.

Rather... a government has no 'duties' inherent except those necessitated by its being a government. For a being (or group of beings) to govern is for a being (or group of beings) to conduct the policy, actions, and affairs (of a state, organization, or people). And government is the name for the governing individual(s) or group(s). Smile

A government does not need to be also benevolent. It may protect the lives of its citizens... or they could matter so little to it that it kills them itself (Eg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiananmen_S...ts_of_1989 ). It may 'protect?' the 'liberty?' of its citizens... or the whole lot could be slaves to the government (serfdoms much?). A government certainly does not need to 'protect?' the prosperity of its people... else what of the poor? Smile

Ok, let me rephrase.

"Governments according to my Libertarian ideals have three duties..."

He was an ACTOR. He read the lines that the power brokers wrote for him. Want to find about Reagan study up on Meese, Stockman, Donald Regan, etc.

The Republicans love nothing better than an easily manipulated air head out front to give their sheep something to look at.

Isn't that what caused our present predicament - Gov't not controlling the banks enough?

Isn't that true for all political leaders?

That sounded so much like the stupid line given by theists;

"All I can say is you will see when you die. What happens to you after that will prove God to you."

It is of my opinion the near collapse of the auto and banking industries here in America can be directly linked to greed. Pure unadultered greed. Not just the company as an entity being greedy, but all the individuals personal greed also. From the 52 million dollar a year C.E.O.s to the 'we want 32 dollars an hour to perform repetitious brainless factory work' line workers.

It's a sad state of affairs but IMO the gummint had to step in and say "No you fuckin' greedy bastards, you can't do that anymore."
