I think that's why some stress that you choose to go to hell. Because throwing people into a fire for eternity can't really be justified.

Rob if you sin against and infinite being then your crime is not finite and all sin is against God. it says all have fallen short of his glory and that there is no one that does good.
Chad and Rob so you base your morality on your own subjective thinking but as we have stated earlier people are flawed so why do you assume that your moral standard is correct?

I don't assume it is correct, I do everything in my power to make it as likely as possible to be correct.
I don't claim absolute certainty, such a thing is a useless concept.

Do you claim absolute certainty that your God is real, and that the morality you get from it is the best form of morality?
If so, how did you determine it is the best form of morality? And what does morality mean to you? What purpose is this morality supposed to have?
A crime against an infinite being is an infinite crime? I have no idea what an infinite being is supposed to mean, but even if God is infinite, how is a finite crime against him infinite? Isn't he big enough and ugly enough to deal with it without resorting to violence and torture?

Why would the lifespan of the judge have anything to do with the judgement? Unless your god is so full of spite that he just refuses to forgive anyone who doesn't beg for it within a certain amount of time. I think there are a lot of people in the world that are better than this petty, violent, narcissist that you hold up so high.
There could very well be progressive people in the future that look on the most progressive people in the present and laugh at how backwards they are. Just like we do with cultures of the past. Why do I think my morals are better than the ones in the bible? Because they cause me to care about people other than those who share my exact beliefs. if love and peace was te intention of the divinely inspired writers of that book, then they have failed, because many of the worst moral failings of history have been perpetrated by those who claim to be following it.
One of the better things about my morals is that I know I'm not perfect, and my morals are subject to change. Your god refuses to change, which is why his morals are outdated.

Sounds like the boiling iron enemas are back on the table . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

God commanded Noah to build a boat but that doesn't mean everyone since must also. The laws an ordinances of Deuteronomy and Leviticus were specifically for the ancient Hebrew theocracy. They no longer apply because the group subject to those rules no longer exists.

But why was it ever ok to own slaves, or rape women, or commit genocide? This is the first impression we get of your god, and the OT takes up two thirds of your book. Why should I are if he gets slightly nicer at the end when the first thing we find out about him is how vindictive, petty, and selof centered he is? I hear about how the old laws don't matter, despite Jesus saying it wasn't his intention to change any laws, yet this means that sometimes a;; of these horrible, evil things are ok to do. This desn't speak well of your god.
He is only ever slightly more progressive than the contemporary culture. Probably the best lesson of the bible is to treat others how you want to be treated, which isn't even unique or original to the bible.

If we have objective morality, then owning slaves is still good. Otherwise, we don't have objective morality.

Given human nature, I don't think God could have turned the post-Egyptian slavery Hebrews into a Western constitutional democracy over night. Incremental change is better than no change at all. As I said, the range of choice isn't always from good to bad; sometimes its bad and worse. With the practice of slavery, God is basically saying, "I cannot turn your hearts away the practice of slavery entirely, so if you must do this evil then the least you can do is treat your slaves humanely."
