But you get the point I was trying to make. No, technically, no one is stopping a kid from praying in schools. The point is, public school is a government run institution. The staff are not allowed to lead prayer, because it violates First Amendment rights. That is what I was saying. I just didn't think I needed to be THAT specific with it.

Drich, likes to change the subject so that he can derail threads. I think that he is a bored, very clever troll who likes to get everyone angry. Because his message is very damning to his faith, he doesn't make me mad. He actually makes his fellow theist look bad because they never speak out against him.

That's the whole point to this. It's to show you people what hypocrits you are. You all have no issue striping the rights from us to teach out kids what we think it right but the first time your etheics are challenged you loose your minds!

Surely you can show us where the bad atheist stripped you of your right to teach your kids what you think is right. Well, actually, surely you can't, because you're lying. Your right to teach your own children what you believe has never been infringed in the slightest.

There's no prize for most despicable sentiment expressed in a single post, Drich.

Drich, you may want to brush up on your history a bit here and start reading a work from Thomas Paine entitled The Age Of Reason, printed in 1889 in the USA. It contains the following from him on his opinion on religion:
Quote: "I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy.

But, lest it should be supposed that I believe in many other things in addition to these, I shall, in the progress of this work, declare the things I do not believe, and my reasons for not believing them.

I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."

Cool stuff eh? Italicized and underlined by me to show importance.

Know this too. Thomas Paine is credited, in large part, for being responsible for the formation of the United States. He is long known for his fight against tyranny, fighting in both the American Revolution as well as the French Revolution.

Due to the 30/30 rule, until I have permission from staff here to post the link I found my information from, if anyone is interested, pm me and I will send you the link.

Can't speak for the staff of course, but according to the rules it's OK to post links to make a point in the discussion.

I did answer the question. If it is against the law then the answer is no. Clear enough?

And otherwise you would let a small child do anything she or he wants? Because that's what you're 'clearly' saying.

The only person I have ever seen spell it 'per' is you, Drich. You shouldn't assume that the people we hang out with are as poor at spelling as the people with whom you hang out apparently are.

Interesting how Drich deems the law superior to the whims of his pet god.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It does something for the person praying, it makes them feel useful, like they've actually done something worthwhile, without making a valid contribution or putting any effort in whatsoever.

This is just like those people who insist on spelling the word "tomorrow" tomarrow. The middle "o" is pronounced as ô as in "ought". [tuh-mawr-oh, -mor-oh]
