Gun Control

RE: Gun Control
Parker, this is not about rights, this is about the bad climate. Makers and the NRA have no interest in problem solving. They are like far to much of businesses in general, profits first. No one here at least not me, is out to get anyone. But only a fool thinks what we are doing now is solving anything. It is nothing but selfishness. The sane in our society want to do some reasonable things but only one side is acting like brats because others vote.

I don't care to change the second amendment, but it is way too easy to get a firearm. In many places it is more difficult to get a cosmetology license than it is to get a concealed carry permit.

Right Cato, and no one needs big clips or military style riffles anymore than they need grenade launchers or armed jets.

The combo of fear that the NRA sells, and the slave wage mentality and pay gap are not helping. Legal vs illegal are not my issue. Rights are not even my issue. "Do nothing" is still not a solution.

Of course this is about rights, and where limits ought to be drawn on them.

I'm not sure there is a solution. I don't think a ban such as Australia has in place would be very effective, and I'm not keen on eroding the Bill of Rights any more than necessary. I think smart guns will be the best solution to the problem of gun crime.

I had to double check to make sure this was the thread I thought I entered:

Sick inhumane bastards.
Really, if we're going to talk about bad climate, we might also want to look at statements, such as these, which only empower and strengthen the credibility of groups like as the NRA.

RE: Gun Control
I just wish gun nuts were as concerned with their responsibilities as they are about their fucking "rights."

The 2d amendment talks about a well-regulated militia and it was a 5-4 vote of the corporate nazis on the SC which opened the flood gates for gun nut heaven.

Not gonna happen in America, so why bother? Seriously, this is one of those issues that tends to divert our attention away from real problems. A half million people die of cancer each year, tens of thousands from automobile accidents, yet we fixate on the stuff that causes the smallest number of deaths (terrorism, violent crime, etc.), spending untold amounts of money on cops, prisons, our military, surveillance, etc. (money that could be spent on education, healthcare, science, etc.).

I am all for having guns.....locked up at gun ranges or at specific hunting sites only to be used during the activity time.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

You are obviously not really in Michigan.  No one in the U.S. seriously believes that that is not controversial.  Just look at the stuff the NRA puts out, and you will get a hint of how controversial it is.  They want every lunatic to be able to buy as many fucking guns as they want, and don't want the evil government saying who is a lunatic and who isn't, as that is just a way to strip people of their rights to own as much firepower as they can afford.  And they have quite a few members, who are totally behind this idea.

You must really be Canadian or from some other country.  I call bullshit on you saying you live in the U.S.!

You're as much an American as I am a Martian!
