Stay loose. life is not a sprint. You probably think 25 is elderly. When I was your age, a common attitude among us was that we wanted to die before 30. There wasn't anything worthwhile to getting older than that and you could leave a good looking corpse. When you stop laughing, consider that at the time we really meant it. There will be lots of time to tell. Getting out of the house is generally a goal of healthy youngsters. Your parents want you safe above all else but they do want to see you safely off into your lives. You are their projections into the future. Wounding them now serves no useful purpose and could cause long term pain for all involved. At my age, I would love to have a convention inflicted on me. My worldview is so stable that it is positively ossified. I welcome Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons at my door. They're like exotic bugs, fascinating. Confirmation bias? Perhaps, but I accept all observations to see how they fit my preconceptions predictions. If they fit, I was right and get to be quietly smug. If they don't, I have a chance to refine my theories. Maybe there will be others of like mind to yourself there, you never know. Maybe Min can teach you the secret atheist handshake.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?
Ssshh..... they're too young.
I would just bring an Ipod and listen to music... Books are good but with all the noise it might be hard to concentrate. If they paid already for the convention sadly you will probably have to go. If they haven't paid just say your not feeling good.
There will likely be cute girls/guys there. While they're no doubt indoctrinated, that doesn't mean you can't work your game.

My experience: The Catholic ones are so hot they make the sun sweat. The Protestant ones are prudish, uncomfortable with their sexuality and turn into blocks of ice if you do get them into the bedroom. Your mileage may vary.
