He told Abraham to kill his son, he says genocide is cool and gets mad when it's not bloody enough, he'll ride in the blood of his enemies, and then he's all turn-the-other-cheek hippie, mr 'love thy neighbor as thyself'
The only constant is his inconsistency

Good point. God is very clear about who his favourites are, and everyone else is pretty much expendable.
I guess it could be, "Though shalt not kill anyone important."

I'll go into it further on how and why it is a hypocritical phrase. If you put it bluntly the same people spewing the thou shall not kill line
clearly hasn't read the bible because well god commands humans in the bible to kill even when it was stated on the level commandments.
god pretty much said kill those people take the women. Even god of the bible is a hypocrite to his own commandments. He ordered Moses into
war knowing full well thou shall not kill and had him mass murder innocent people. What makes this point even more set in stone look at groups like
the KKK and other extremist christian groups they violate that amendment they killed people even radical christians overseas as of now are doing
terrible shit. I'll say because it is true.
You cant be a christian without being a hypocrite.

Yep.
How should this possibly work otherwise? How are we supposed to do as god does, or vice versa? He's an effing God! It's not even apples and oranges.

Well... when what he does is at the reach of lowly humans, such a parallel can be made.
e.g.: kill people.

Because supposedly, we were made "in his image". That would have to extend to all aspects of "him" and everything that he does.
Really, he's just leading by example. A poor example, but one nonetheless.
Told all yalls he was a narcissist. He does the damage, then swoops in to be the hero. Typical controlling and manipulative sort of character.

here's the problem: what is god like? what is the definition, the requirements for a god?
it's such a vague concept, likely on purpose so that one can fit anything into it
