What are the basic tenets of Jehovah's Witness beliefs?

Why does anyone believe whatever it is that you answered to the first question?  What evidence is there for such beliefs?

The basic tenets question is hard but I'll try. We believe god is the sovereign of the universe. Satan, Adam and Eve challenged that sovereignty and instead of destroying them in the moment he allowed mankind and satan to prove whether or not that god has the right to be that sovereign. Thats in a small nutshell. But we strongly believe that the bible should be the basis for all of our beliefs.

If someone were desirous to be a witness it is not a "get baptized and we'll explain the rest" kind of thing. We study with people from the bible and let them conclude what the bible really teaches.

The only evidence I would say is what the bible says. Other than that, I have personally seen major personal changes in people for the better. But the latter is much more of a subjective piece of evidence
....

Somehow I have this feeling that I am going to get the runaround on this, but:

Why believe the Bible is true?

Do you believe every book in which there is a claim that it is written by divine inspiration? Why not the Koran? Or a Hindu text?

As for changes in people's lives, people claim that for every other religion. So that is no evidence at all.

Min's premise isn't that the load of crap dates from the 1880s; it's that it is a load of crap that was invented in that period. The TOE doesn't qualify on either count.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Thank you for answering all of the questions, just reading your replies I've learned a lot more than from all the people knocking on my door.

One more question, do JW's actively do anything to bring about the end times, as some dominionists do, or do you just look forward to it?

Oh, one more, do you ever wish you could observe holidays or birthdays? I mean, when you see other people having a good party (not like getting drunk or moshing, I just mean, enjoying each other's company and exchanging gifts with loved ones) do you ever wish you could be part of that?

FWIW, I think the Jehovah's Witnesses are much less nutso than the Mormons. Do Mormons seem especially nutso to Jehovah's Witnesses, or are all other religions pretty much equally whacky ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

If I invited you nicely into my home and drugged your drink that you accepted because you are that naive, how mad would you be to wake up in the middle of a forest where you had no idea of your location or how you had gotten there?  Would you feel justified in having found yourself there?

I may have to name my next girl puppy Dorkus. That is so cool.

You know it's all bollocks, right? Made up, fantasy, wish-fulfilling feelgood fluff.
