Which is usual procedure in most western european bathrooms anyway. Personally I feel kind of uncomfortable and exposed if they don't. Regardless of the gender of possible visitors. Also, I don't feel the need to smell and hear everything coming from the neighbouring stall.

Yes, exactly.  Who wants to be watched by anyone while they are sitting on a toilet?

Why would it matter to them which restroom they use then?  If they have a penis they can use the men's and, if not, they can use the women's.  Seems pretty simple to me.

What they're attempting to do with this restroom thing is to accommodate a few people at the expense of a large number of people. We don't want to offend a certain group of people, but at the same time, we're offending many more. Perhaps we'll just to have separate restrooms for physical men who are mentally women, physical women who are mentally men, gay men and lesbians.....or maybe we can just put locks on the stalls.

Well, usually there's this thingy on the inside of stall doors. You can turn that and other than the door being kicked down, noone can enter from the outside. I learned that when being potty trained. It's kind of unusual and frowned upon to leave the door open to let everyone participate in the ensuing procedures.

This is the point exactly! Anyone should be able to use whatever restroom they feel comfortable in because there are locks on the fecking stalls.
