Three reasons, mainly:
1. Pink is my shit, and I do not fuck around with it.
2. I enjoy watching and listening to humans cry. It excites and amuses me.
3. My bold color choice immediately divides up the people I care to know and the people I do not care to know. Anyone who isn't comfortable around an excessively pink wizard will not be comfortable around me, and I do not care to know those people. This simplifies and improves my social interactions significantly.
All that said, I am doing my best to select shades that are dark enough to read easily on this background. I'm still experimenting with it, and unless it's against forum rules or the Book of Spaghetti or something, I see nothing wrong with typing in dark pink text. I'm certainly open to adjusting the behavior if one of the admins finds it problematic.

There isn't anything wrong with it. We frown a little on deliberately posting in green or red, because those are the colors admins and mods post in when we're speedbumping a thread, but even then we're not really strict about it, as it's not in the rules; it's mainly just a suggestion for when things get heated.

Why don't you try, ooh I don't know, politely asking if Redbeard could tone down to a darker pink? I see people type in unique colours all the time on other forums, it really doesn't require a flurry of insults when addressing the issue. I mean the guy's been nothing less than perfectly pleasant from what I've seen so far.

I very much appreciate all the humans jumping to my defense, although I really wasn't fazed by the outburst...when coming to an atheist forum, I pretty much expect explosive responses from a certain percentage of people, and I've had some criticism on other forums about using certain shades of pink, which is why I correct for that as much as I can to make it easier. Of course, he always has the option of simply skipping my posts, which should be easy since they're all the same color
I also don't wanna derail this person's thread any more than we already have.

Personally, as staff, I have no problem with the pink. If we did we'd ask you not to use but, I/we don't.
When someone writes in the brightest cyan I have a problem, however. So don't ya'll be writing in brightest cyan.
However, as above, let's not derail any further.
