Movie industry going down ?
#31
RE: Movie industry going down ?
adding movies that are being produced right now might be meaningful to the stats,  if, oh, I don't know, if you're trying to convey particular some message about how cinema releases are decreasing in popularity and are being made less now than in previous years maybe?

Your list is biased and therefore meaningless. You admit it yourself.

Again with the one number. Are you fucking retarded? I already provided you with the link. How many times are you going to make me repeat myself, only to go from, I know, I can see them + some nonsensical banter about grades or Bollywood, to it's only a number?! No one number(this vague number is all but only a product of your imagination) - Imdb lists every single movie ever made, you just have to scroll through them. As to how to gain access to all those movies at once, although I don't see why you would feel the need to do so, seeing how they're already there, listed - that's for those blokes who whish to make up kindergarten grade statistics about murican movies to find out.

I ask you again, do you really believe you're either the first or the best to do this? Why go after such an ambitious project, especially since you don't know how to pick your sources, I mean, wikipedia, really?! How can you tell me with a straight face that this list is valid, since wikipedia is involved? To assume that I hate wikipedia, just because it might be a shitty source to conduct statistics with on some topics, especially since those same topics might have literally internet data bases with an incomparable wealth of information to work with, just like the internet movie data base happens to have on feature films, is simply to reveal the hurt feelings behind being criticized for a failed project. Grow up, would you? Your listing is as useful to draw conclusions from as my shampoo is to deterring terrorism.

not even slightly convincing, again I will state the obvious, the movies in the future are not certain and thus not worth mentioning.

I never did say that my list is biased, and now you're lying, you're that desperate ?!

yes, one fucking number for the feature films, and that is what this is all about, one number in the IDMB list is for feature films.
in the link you gave he was talking about how IDMB is missing some feature films, read the article again. IDMB is not that perfect.

aah, I see you trying to put me down and tell me how small I am and how big the world is, I never said i'm the best(again you're lying about what I said or not said). You're also trying to put me down and call my project a failure, it's not a failure, can you do half of what i've done ? ofc not, not even after 10 years of learning programming and also you're lying again and twisting what I said, this is not the project I said i'm doing, it's a side thing that I did and you happen to not like it.
Wikipedia has one really good advantage over IDMB, which is that it's a globally distributed collaborative work of many, don't underestimate it so much.

you see, what decent people do is that they engage in something called a conversation, without the need to insult one another just because of a slight disagreement.

I really regret engaging in a talk with someone like you, check the posts again, you'll find that you started insulting and I ignored it politely  and then you insulted me again and again, now it's my turn.
I think you're one arrogant egocentric lying sack of shit.

Imdb has movies to show you in the hundreds of thousands. Wikipedia combined with your

got you some odd thousands. Isn't it kind of sad how you're trying to justify your failure again and again? I only call it a failure because I already asked you what your goal was and how/did you achieve it and you didn't have a good answer to that. So yeah, you're a failure, at least from my perspective and concerning this little project of yours.
Your list is biased because you are trying to include only movies wikipedia lists, when we all know wikipedia rarely lists everything of anything, on any matter at all, and that is precisely the problem - that it is being moderated by anyone and everyone and it's about everything, whereas I'm not sure who moderates imdb but I'm fairly sure it's just about movies and they rarely ever fuck up about their information, given how it's such a restrained environment by comparison. Your list is also biased because you're trying to include only some kinds of movies(some little part of all feature films released in an english language) and failing miserably even at that, you're suddenly not making any sense, covering your tracks as you go forward and I point out the mistakes.

By the way, avalanching me with your superiority in the code making business, mentioning the obvious fact that I can't do whatever it was you wanted to do is the classic stance of someone who's just lost the argument. Critics aren't supposed to be better at what those they critic do, that's incredibly facile of you to suggest. You can be Napoleon for all I care, if you failed to conquer Russia, you're getting booed, and there's nothing you can do about it.

You're a cheat. That's the gist of it. Get over yourself. This is my last post to you in this thread, you murky clown.
Also, you can insult me as much as you want. If it's gratuitous, however, you're not doing yourself any favors.

Wow, who knew a thread about movies could have the hostility of an abortion discussion?

Gotta love the Internet.
