Way to cherry-pick two verses from a book and ignore all the parts about how he will only do those things for about 144,000 Jews and the rest of us will fry in Hell. Did you somehow miss that?
The quoted verses neatly summarize the context of Revelation. Other verses regarding the fate of the wicked demonstrate the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

Begging

Summa...did you ju...wha...

Disappointed

No. Absolutely not. You do not get to yank two verses out, claim that as the context of the book, and then try to sweep all the death and torture under the carpet by describing it without all the death and torture. It does not work that way.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

The stories in the OT sound very bizarre to me, and were written thousands of years ago when writing style could very possibly be different. So it would make sense to believe they are not historically accurate. Especially the story of Genesis, of which there is evidence that proves it's impossible it could have happened literally as it is written.

So, writing style and evidence to the contrary, but mostly writing style. Seems a strange litmus test of truthfulness to me.

Yeah, when the Borg come to take you all away.

Yeah, when the Borg come to take you all away.

Won't that be a triumph of evil over equal evil?!?

Hmm, if writing style is an issue then Richard Carrier holds that the NT is written in exactly the style you would expect from mythmaking/storytelling, rather than reporting history. Not a good sign for expecting facts out of it.

This is one of the most interesting videos about the bible I've ever watched.
