Ok. If we were real life friends and I was doing something illegal, then you have every reason to tell me, and then go to the police. I don't really see your need to want to be constantly harassing me otherwise. If I disgusted you so much, then maybe it would be better to cease being friends.

I guess the biggest stumbling block in giving you what you're asking, Cath-y, is that this is precisely where most of us go to vent about religion. Any place else and I'm not in to it. If people enjoyed mocking religion before you arrived, and who among us has not laughed at Bill Maher doing just that, you can't expect them to stop now that you're here, right?

It is one thing to do something because you want to hurt someone versus wanting to do a thing and realizing that might happen. In RL I don't make too many sacrifices for other people's feelings. If we disagree or what they want and I want is incompatible, I don't think I owe it to anyone to sacrifice what I want.

Meh, it's all a charade anyway.  Didn't see her jump in to defend the religious sensibilities of any of our recent muslims.  In fact, I recall her pointing the finger in their direction more than once, as though we were dogs she could set upon the undesirables.  

It's only an issue when we mock the teachings of the great and powerful Cathol. Then it's all feigned fragility and pleas for tolerance and respect -business as usual-. Have we seen any introspection, any comment taken to heart? Nope, just "mean atheists and their hurtful comments". I've heard this tune too many times to be amused or sympathetic.

In a relationship, I'm very leery of women who talk too much about their heart and feelings. I mean, a little will go a long way. But I really don't like being seen as good building material for the man she would really like to be with. I've always told girlfriends I don't come with a channel tuner, just an on/off. We all have feelings. We all want things. We have to barter openly and honestly for them.

I missed that bit earlier, but since we're talking about things learnt in kindergarten...I distinctly recall some lessons about not allowing others to be punished for ones own misdeeds......

Back to popadom benadictine or whatever he's called, I suppose a message of inclusiveness could be seen as progress. I just rather doubt the sincerity of it, and I expect there are some caveats in the small print. (Subject to eventually accepting Jesus)

Every church is going to have become more liberal I feel, or it will crumble. CL represents the future type of believer in my opinion.

It's one of the big problems I have with religion. Apparently you can ignore it, live like a shit, fuck people over all your life, then just before you die "accept Jesus and get forgiven". You get the same reward as someone who has worshipped God all their life and lived as best they can. And you get a better reward than an atheist who simply cares about people but does it their own way. (That's the popular view, at least. I don't know if this statement officially changes that. I find it very unlikely.)
