Atheism the unscientific belief (part one, two, and three)

I never said god "can't exist" - you're obviously not paying attention (I'm sure it's difficult to pay attention to other people's arguments, when you have voice of god babbling on inside of your head). I just don't believe there is any evidence that god DOES exist.

Also, if you can converse with god - I can read minds. You don't know what's going on in my head, which is why you're closed-minded to the possibility, that I can read your mind. It's just your ignorant opinion.

I'm pretty sure most of us think that God can  exist; we just don't think God does  exist. There's an important difference, there.

It's why we point to reality when dealing with the concepts of God that are brought to us by Believers, and show that most of the concepts they have accepted are incompatible with reality. For God to be discussed on a basis of reality-compatibility, we are presuming "If God exists as you claim, it would conform to testable reality in the following ways". If you then proceed to feelings-based "evidence", we're going to point out to you that often, human feelings do not themselves conform to reality. We are amazingly good at observer bias and sheer imagination.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Right. I like Jenny and I'm glad she joined us, but I think it's time she showed us the same courtesy we show her.

By repeatedly telling us what our positions are, that we say "God can't exist", she is argueing with positions almost no one actually holds. She's been told this multiple times.

Let's not forget, that she claims, that people turn to atheism, not because they find religious doctrines illogical and obnoxious - but because god doesn't speak to them...

She get pissy at us, for not believing in god and then she says, that only god can give us evidence. Why isn't she angry with god, then? There seems to be literally NOTHING we can do to find the god hypothesis convincing - unless he decides to start whispering to each and every one of us - as he allegedly does with her.

i am only saying that some atheists absolutely are convinced that God does not exist i have come across people who are sure that God does not exist . i dont know what percentage of atheists have this view of certainty but i have met some people who do not all thats why i said it would be interesting to find out how common this is . im not saying all atheists have completely closed the door to any possibility of God some have some have not .

Yeah I don't think she's going out of her way to offend, I understand it can be frustrating.

She probably just has trouble grasping things from our point of view. You know how hard it is to get some of the most basic things across sometimes.... I don't think she's being disingenuous I just think she doesn't 'get' it. I don't think she means any harm.

Obviously can't disclose any of the information but I've been PMing her and she seems capable of being reasonable.

That's fine; but are you now satisfied that "God does not exist" is not the core atheist position?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

TBH the way I see it - with all these really annoying frustrating trolls on the forums pissing me off... theists like Jenny here are like a breath of fresh air (as far as the new theists go I mean, there are plenty of awesome ones that aren't new members, like CL and KP for example).

your assuming that everyone becomes atheist for the same reason , because they dont believe in the Bible and thats it . well if they had a relationship with God regardless of what they thought about the Bible or how illogical and obnoxious the religious doctrines were , they would still believe in God . and therefore would not become an atheist.

And im not getting upset what makes you think im getting upset with you for being an atheist ive said over and over again you need proof to believe i know you dont have it yet and as long as you dont close the door completely to the possibility of God youll get that proof eventually its worth the wait .
