Do 'pro-life' Christians ever . . .

RE: Do 'pro-life' Christians ever . . .
Let me explain something very carefully:
Most people with female bodies get a period between seven and twelve. Do you know what that means? Once you a period your body is technically capable of going through the strain of pregnancy. Now please explain to the ten year old Chilean rape victim why endangering her life is the right thing to do? I'm sure she'll understand completely!

Different principles apply when the mother's life is at stake, just as I consider it moral to kill a person who is attempting to kill an innocent victim.

What gives you the right to make reproductive choices for another human?

If liberty is a major concern in America (I'm assuming here), then why do you presume to take that away from women everywhere?

In our society I don't have a right to take away that choice.  Fetuses are not afforded the same rights as people who are already born are.  My purpose is to persuade others of the immorality of the practice in the hope that they will make the right choice.

So, would you vote for or against abortions?

So basically you think you should get to decide medical decisions based on who you consider eligible for "victimhood" status. And only good "victims" should be able to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Otherwise they're murders.

I'd really have to think and pray a lot about it. It's kind of like the drug laws. Do they really cut down on drug use? And what kind of situation will arise as a result. I don't know if just making laws is what we need. In my mind the real solution is in changing peoples' minds and hearts. Yeah, I just can't say for sure.

Ok. When you make up your mind, let me know.

What if a rape victim's life was not threatened? Would you force her to carry her rapists child to term?

In most cases I think she should carry it to term, but I think I'd leave that decision to her.

Oh how generous of you! Look you being so kind and letting the simple female make decisions that are obviously to much for her little mind! It's like letting a kid pick the movie!

I won't belittle this statement, because I think this is a little bit of a shift from your stance at the beginning of this thread.

I hope you see, Lek, that it is possible to be morally against something but support every person's right to make their own choices, even if you disagree with them.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

If the God of the Bible is fine with abortions, I rather wonder how anyone who claims to be a Christian can be against abortions.

The simple fact is, most Christians just ignore the Bible when they want to do so, and just pretend that it says what they want it to say.

These verses are not about abortion, but refer to the woman having a womb that will not be able to produce children.

Now we know (in case there was any doubt beforehand) that your reading comprehension is fairly nonexistent.
