Display of the Ten Commandments, like the one in Arkansas, refer to the historical role they served in the development of civil laws. As such the monument has primarily historic significance and incidentally religious significance. Devil worship had no such positive historical influence and erecting a monument to Satan is only a religious statement. Thus it is easy to justify the preservation of the Ten Commandments and the exclusion of the Satan statue.

Cultures that never heard of your fucking commandments had no trouble figuring out that stealing, lying and killing were wrong. The other 7 are just shit for the tribal assholes.

Um, no. Pretty sure it has FAR more importance in religion than history. If what you're saying is true, why isn't it the Hammurabi's code?

I posted this on Fb and there was one comment left, "I'll pray for you".
How sad that people are so ignorant that they'll scream for religious freedom and then scream louder when another group gets it.

The article didn't say there were huge protest, 50 people do not make a significant protest. Even though I gave Chad a kudos (it was for showing how the 10 Commandments were also an important document for laws in the U.S.), I say let them have their fun, this country gives them the right to do so. When Paul went to Greece he did not condemn the people and ask them to remove their statues, Paul with kindness pointed to the one he could use to bring the truth of Christ to them and, successful was he. Seems you haven't stirred up the Christians here either, just yourselves, backfired it seems, seems the Christians here take a more mature approach to things like this.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Good one dipshit. Maybe, take a few minutes to talk to a satanist, or read what they believe for a few minutes.

Aw, Mini beat me to it.
Seriously, though, do you guys know the Ten Commandments? Like, without looking them up? I do. There are at least two sets, the most popular (and technically NOT the named "10 Commandments") of which is this:
1. Have no other gods before me (not a law)
2. Do not make graven images/idols (not a law)
3. Do not take the Lord's name in vain (not a law)
4. Rest on the Sabbath/keep it holy (not a law)
5. Honor/obey your father and mother (sort of a law, but only til you're 18 or legally emancipated)
6. Don't murder (ok, this one is a law, and that law probably predates the Bible in terms of human history ...the modern law, in fact, is much more cut-and-dried on this than the Bible)
7. Don't commit adultery (sort of a law, mostly for civil/divorce law, certainly not a federal crime)
8. Don't steal (is actually a law, and again probably one that is not novel or unique to ancient Jews or Christians)
9. Don't bear false witness (perjury, slander, and libel are technically things, and yet again things that were likely frowned upon in other cultures first)
10. Don't covet your neighbor's wife/house/stuff (not a law)
I'm not even going to bother with the ACTUAL Ten Commandments because they have nothing to do with modern law. Of the above, we have maybe 5 potential correlations between this list and our modern legal system, and of those the strongest examples by far are "don't kill" and "don't steal." I would contend that all of these contributions actually stem from classic human ethics, and the Bible just happens to mention the same values; they do not necessarily seem to be direct contributions from the Bible.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)
