Does Religion Have A Place in the World?
#21
RE: Does Religion Have A Place in the World?
To be honest, I can only see a re-surgence in hardcore Christianity in the future, especially if Islam doesn't calm the fuck down.

I hate to say this because I believe so strongly in secularism, but the current secular West is pussying out and doing nothing to fight encroaching Islamism. Something has to give, and honestly I think people are going to start turning to really hardcore right-wing Christianity as a buffer against Islam. I think a lot of people will see it as a lesser of two evils.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable."

While it is encouraging some select addicted others and myself have figured out the 'necessary fiction' angle, I wouldn't want to see 12 Steppers run without it.  (and yes, I've had some experience with RR, I just don't see RR working for everyone the same way I don't see 12 Steppers working for everyone either)

Rational Recovery.

It's an alternative to 12 Steppers without the 'Higher Power" angle. The 'classic' 12 Stepper tome allows for agnosticism, RR goes full tilt boogie and embraces atheism.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
