If You Were An Atheist

The question I propose to you is:
  1. If you were an atheist tomorrow, how would you change the rest of your life? Personality, morals, etc.
I only decided to put one question this time, so it should be pretty easy to answer.

Thanks!

Asking someone what they'd be like if they were totally different is not a simple question at all.  Shy

I know there are exceptions, but generally speaking, a person's faith (if it's a strong faith) doesn't normally tend to be some little surface part of themselves. For me, it's so much a part of me, and so contributory to who I am and how I was led to be this way, that I'd have no idea what I'd be like without it. You may as well ask me what I'd be like if I was a man lol. I have no idea.

I know what kind of atheist you'd be: A very, very naughty atheist -- one in need of severe guidance.

Oh snap....  Blush
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

No no no no no. Percentages don't care about how many they are. What level of math did you take, and still understand? This is elementary level stuff. There's a 0.0007% chance of dying from a skydive, compared to a 0.0167% for driving.

I don't think there is any need to be so condescending, imho.  Undecided

She's taking the time to respond to the question you asked and to engage in conversation with you.

Precisely why I answered how I did, because I feel the same way.  Without God, there is no ultimate meaning.

Why must there be a meaning? What difference does it make to your day to day life?

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Because deep within I believe we all question and seek answers to four major questions.

Origin
Meaning
Morality
Destiny

Where do I come from?

What gives life meaning?

How do I differentiate between good and bad?

What happens to a human being when he or she dies?

The atheistic worldviews answers to these questions, I find depressing.  I think most people have a longing for life after the grave, we feel there is something more.  May be not all people, but most.

Atheism says we are a cosmic accident, each person defines their own meaning, each person defines their own good, and then dust.  To me, personally, that is depressing.
We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.

Although I did just become official of legal age to be nominated. Wink
