HOWEVER...have you ever had a genuine experience of foreknowledge or a sense of foreboding about something that either DID come to pass or that caused you to alter your plans to avoid it?

No, not really.

I had deja vues, but that's not unusual and well documented. You also have to make a distinction between something entirely unexpected or something that could be expected by your subconsciousness. Such as having a terminally ill relative.

That's a story, my mother told me. Her little sister suffered from tuberculosis and was in a sanatorium and she claimed to have known her dying moment. But that's something you expect to happen in this kind of situation, regardless if you realize it or not.

Did some of the things i thought would come true actually come true? Yes.

One time I got the idea to 'phone my friend, just for something to do. I picked up the receiver - no mobiles then - and was surprised to hear my friend saying "Hello?" He'd got the same idea to call me at the same moment, or near enough, so we'd dialled each other precisely synchronised such that the call connected instantly without ringing.

In light of recent comments, perhaps that was the start of my career as a prophet?
