Share Your Untestimony: Prayers that God didn't Answer

RE: Share Your Untestimony: Prayers that God didn't Answer
I once prayed to god to stop me from being so good looking...

Guess he never got round to it.

When I was a squirt, I would pray for peace in the world and the end of hunger, and other self-righteous bull like that. Seeing how there are still millions starving and wars going on, it didn't work.

Then I would pray to god asking him to prove he was real, when I was losing faith in him. Didn't lift his pinky Angry

And then my brain was microwaved and all I could pray for was for god to go away ._.
which did happen, but most of the credit goes to Hitchens and Sam Harris.

At least he gave you humility, right?!

I also asked him for either a big dick or a really good memory. Can't remember his answer.

Quote:When I was a little boy, I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised, the Lord, in his wisdom, doesn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I was praying that nobody would come up with that before me. Fuck you, "God".
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

F*** you, god!

Gee, the monkey's paw did better than that.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Physical beauty is not something to take for granted. If you have it, rejoice for

Beauty is only skin deep
But ugly goes to the bone
Beauty will fade away
But ugly will hold its own

We are among the chosen few. Big Grin

Ever since my father told me, prayer doesn't work as a kid, I didn't pray for anything. Took me still a long time to become a total unbeliever. And in that time I experimented with what is written and prayed for people I didn't care for to get better when they fell ill. Or to overcome some personal crisis. Didn't work of course.

I recall my mother very adamantly during my fathers recovery from a massive stroke. I remember her saying all she wanted was for him to live long enough to see his first grandchild and how much she loved him, she even bargained her own life span, Anything to have him get better.

He would eventually leave the hospital....and die only two months afterwards.

That moment made her reevaluate her faith and is now what I'd call agnostic leaning towards atheist.
