And you clearly find habitually being a sanctimonious cunt as sacred. I'm pretty sure your master frowns upon that, slave.

As to the OP, I'm not even sure I can answer that. I really don't have any idea.

How is he trolling?
I'm not saying I agree with him, as it is impossible to know what a stranger's motives are. But the assertions he made about you guys are no different in nature from assertions some of you make about us theists all the time.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

He jumped into a thread for no other reason than to throw a self-righteous insult that implies that immoral atheists are generally immoral. These type of posts have become a common theme for Chad here, as he has decided to let go of what little humility he actually had. That's why it's trolling.

My point is a lot of people here do that. Just jump into a thread and say some short, nasty thing about theists and/or their beliefs, and then leave. I'm not complaining about this, as I know it is an atheist forum, just pointing out that if that is trolling, then trolling is done here all the time, but doesn't get called out unless it's by a theist.

Whilst the above is true, the last year has seen Chad's contributions to the forum go from mundane but usually somewhat interesting to trolling 'hit and runs' where he will usually just post some drivel that has a swipe at some imaginary position which he loves to strawman, or the forum as a whole (whether it be membership or the staff) then leg it to another thread.
Case in point:
"...they cannot imagine being accountable to anyone other than themselves."
Demonstrably bollocks. You'll notice no atheists saying we yearn and indeed salivate at the idea of a free for all. We all know what he means, though. He means that because we don't believe in this thing you guys call a 'god' (???) we effectively have no control over our behavior, and hence no accountability. Last time I checked there were these things called laws, and even beyond that, our own internal intuition and beliefs about not harming people just because we can.

Sure they do, but when they do it over and over, then it becomes trolling.
It's like Panda said, you just have to look at the content of what he said. The snide comment about atheists wanting to be only accountable to themselves isn't reflective of what has actually been said in this thread. He just smears what everyone says with his own biases, and he drops his comments in here for no other reason than to declare himself superior. That's textbook trolling.

While it is a a very difficult question to answer, I thought it was interesting to think about, and wanted to ask the rest of you and hear answers from the other side.
Anyone can answer, of course, but I am most interested in hearing from those who have been atheist their whole lives, or at least, who have never been a devout/practicing theist.
If you were a theist tomorrow, how would you change the rest of your life? Personality, morals, etc.
Thanks!
EDIT TO ADD: Any of the Abrahamic religions.
I couldn't. I just don't have the ability to believe anymore. I was raised catholic so I remember what it felt like to be me and it felt exactly the same as I do in my subsequent disbelief. I'm still the same person however I no longer have to try to reconcile my views on human/civil rights, race/tribe, politics, creed, identity or persuasion with an opposing instruction from the supreme being plus I no longer have to feel scared of receiving an unjust punishment for it. In fact, the final nail in the coffin of my belief was the sheer injustice of it; that my innate & demonstrably, ethically positive sense of fairness & decency was going to get me eternally punished hammered home the fact that god's man-made and 'his' rules are primitive, fallible & contradictory attempts at social control.

Jus' trollin'.
Chad was semi reasonable when he started here. Right up until he posted some crap about a tornado missing a church and got himself ripped a new one. he then went full retard and has never gone back.

Trolling doesn't need to be replicated more than once for it to be counted as trolling, Catholic Lady is right that a lot of atheists make the same kind of comments chad has, ones that attack the person for their beliefs. Instead of taking insult or injury by mere words you should have replied like I did, and just calmly explain to him why he was wrong.
If you think I am wrong please tell me how responding rudely like this is a better alternative.

Poor Chad. Can't function without a shepherd to guide him....and occasionally fuck him up the ass.
