I don't care much for what I've heard about the "philosophy" behind this atheistic Satanism thing. Seems a bit egocentric and antisocial.
Just wanted to reply so the above would be re-posted, as I don't think I could have said it better, myself. Double Kudos.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I have a problem with them wanting to put that up right next to a Christian/Jewish symbol, though. Those Satanists did not invent the symbol of the Demon, the bible did. They took something that was made up to represent evil, and are trying to make it their own. Which is fine, I guess, but by putting it next to the 10 commandments statue, they are deliberately and knowingly trying to "defile" something that is very sacred for the majority of people in this country. Why not just choose a different spot to put their statue in? Its own spot?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

I like how they are (trying to) make Christians think about what they are doing. Don't do/build anything in public unless you're prepared for a Satanic version of it to also appear. And a Pastafarian one.
Keep following them around until they get the message. I'm glad someone is doing it.

Because the whole point is that the stupid 10 commandments statue is an unconstitutional act of aggression against minorities.

If they're not allowed to put their statue next to it, then christianity is somehow claiming that piece of supposedly neutral public land.

So close and yet so far away. And why don't christians demand the same for themselves. With so many religions, we would sooner be out of public space if we were to accomodate every people's religion. About the majority, well, in the good US, the majority needs to get more education and good sense. Freedom does not mean you can piss on your neighbour's yard.

I find the symbol of the cross incredibly offensive and I'd rather not see it at all anywhere, but I doubt my offense is taken into consideration.

Maybe we could kill two birds with one stone. Go to Syria and rescue some religious statues before Daesh get their hands on them. Put those Pagan symbols next to the Christian ones on public land

Because it would tell me (if I were an American): "This courthouse/city hall is not for you. You are a second class citizen (at best)"
