Religious Rules that bother you the most

Religious Rules that bother you the most
What religious rules bother you the most?  The ones that you find ridiculous, and wonder "Why would god have something against this exactly...?"  Ones that you might have even broken when you were religious (if you ever were)

For me:

-Anything regarding clothing.  Why would god care what we wear?  Blended fabrics?  I also find it a tad sexist (on both sides!) that women shouldn't wear 'provocative clothing' because it'll tempt man to sin.  Why is that the woman's responsibility?  And men are very well capable of controlling themselves.

-Anything regarding food.  Don't eat pork, shellfish, etc.. Assuming god exists for a moment, if he didn't want us to eat it, why would he have made it taste good?  He'd have made it unappealing wouldn't he?

-Body modifications.  I personally have a few piercings (including my ears, 4), and don't really see what's so bad about them.  I also have a tattoo.

-Most things dealing with sex.  Little against rape, but if you masturbate or watch pornography or have sex outside of marriage, or for purposes other than procreation, or if you have sex with someone as the same gender as you then it's terrible.  But Rape's just fine.   (as long as you marry her)

-One day a week, you can't work.  This is sound in theory, but why must it be Sunday specifically?

-Women speaking in the house of god.  Why not?  Afraid they might realize something's not right with the whole religion thing?

I'm sure there's some that I'm forgetting.  So which are some rules that you don't get and would never follow?

If you are a believer then you have to believe and obey without exception or else you will be tossed into the fire. However, those particular rules only apply to the Jews so unless you are Jewish you don't have to sweat it. That's because as a gentile you will never get into the gaudy bejeweled golden cube called New Jerusalem. You can follow them if you want but it's not going to do you any good except piss you off. Remember, the God character said that he gave people bad rules to see if they were stupid enough to follow them.

Curious, where did God Say that he gave people bad rules? I've never heard that one. I can't say that I've read the bible front to back. But I do know most Christians tend to hold most of those rules (with the exception of clothing and food) pretty tightly.

Prayer 5 times a day? seems made to fail.

You should read the ethnocentric Middle Eastern Jewish religious fairy tale if you want to follow it.

Daniel only prayed three times a day and that was good enough for him.

As a Christian, I always kept in mind that some religious rules were not necessarily Biblical rules. Religious rules are
are often add-ons and interpretations. That being said, I generally disregarded any rule (Bible or otherwise) that dictated any action or lack of action on my part, based solely upon the fact that I was not born with a penis dangling between my legs...never sat well with me.

Defraud not.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Anything more than once is beating a dead horse since a person is supposed to pray that God's will is to be done on Earth as it is in heaven.  Therefore whatever happens is God's will so why whine about having something  different happen?  Praying is just a compliant that the person thinks that God's will really sucks and that he wants a better deal.

I think it's unfair that God gets all of the fat since I can use it to make soap.
