This poll seems to be assuming people generally talk about this specific kind of soul with these specific implications. That is clearly false. In fact, I've never even heard of it before in all the years of "souls" people have drivelled on to me about, many of whom are atheists.

Sorry but what is with your obsession with what the ancients had to say? Whateverist the White of Berkeley said it too. Why is what Epicurus or Samos said more important that what I said? Were they made of more precious stuff? Don't get me wrong. It is nice to give credit to those whose ideas influenced your own. But I'm quite certain that we today are every bit as capable of thinking things through as anyone at any other time. Frankly it comes off as insecurity that what you have to say won't be taken seriously standing on its own. You need to become much more full of yourself. 
Please just tell us what your point is ....nice and simple.
