This could have happened anywhere. It didn't happen because of Islam, Mecca or the mosque. Why the schadenfreude?
Does delighting in the mere random misfortunes of those of whom you disapprove set you apart from those who would shout "Allah Akbar" when you get run over by a drunk driver? This behavior is rather pathetic in an almost theistically petty way, if you ask me.
