Crane crash at Grand Mosque of Makkah

Really, this reminds me of the caption on the Catrina photos. Black people pushing carts were looters, white people doing the same were saving their properties. This could have happened anywhere. It didn't happen because of Islam, Mecca or the mosque. Why the schadenfreude?
Does delighting in the mere random misfortunes of those of whom you disapprove set you apart from those who would shout "Allah Akbar" when you get run over by a drunk driver? This behavior is rather pathetic in an almost theistically petty way, if you ask me. Quote:Saudi authorities began a major expansion of the site last year to increase the area of the mosque by 400,000 square metres (4.3 million square feet), to allow it to accommodate up to 2.2 million people at once. Holy shit, that's a lot of Muslims. I hope they have good toilet facilities. Can Muslims use public toilets like that? That seems like something that could be forbidden.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
What if amongst the dead WORKERS there were atheists trying to make a living? Or the fact that they were working on a mosque any different from working on any buiding? Have any of these armchair commenters ever worked in a construction site?

I am not the religious police, I am the asshole that tells YOU what I think of your despicable speech. Had this happened in another building and you wouldn't even post. It is all you live for ain't it? To bash religion is something, to gloat on people's death just because of a building accident is entirely different. I might be an atheist, but that fact hasn't stripped me of my natural human empathy. (September 12, 2015 at 1:41 am)Minimalist Wrote: Is that in the koran or is it just more wahhabist bullshit? I don't honestly know, but I'm thinking it's Wahabbist bullshit. In Iran there was none of that nonsense, they'd work an accident as soon as they rolled on-scene. I'm certainly not going to shed any crocodile tears over them. What a small, small person you are, that you cannot feel empathy for someone unless they share your views on religion or its lack. I'll have to put you in the Kitan file. |
