Damn right I'm being condescending. Doesn't make it any less correct - I AM ashamed to share a genome with anyone who takes pleasure in the death of multiple human beings. If you take umbrage with that it's your problem, I don't shift my stance for arseholes.

Perhaps my statement was premature. I perceived Irascato as stating that people are twisted if they find something funny, and that's a fact. You see, when people don't clarify on whether or not they're having an opinion, or if they're are believing that something is a fact, my default position is that people are treating what they've said as a fact.
In order to stop a lengthy debate on nonsense, I'll ask directly.
Irascato, did you mean that as an opinion (your personal opinion) or did you mean that as a fact (people who find deaths humorous ARE morally wrong, and it's not just inside your head)?
Plato had defined Man as an animal, biped and featherless, and was applauded. Diogenes plucked a fowl and brought it into the lecture room with the words,
"Behold Plato's man!"

My opinion, of course. I have never claimed to be the Grand Arbiter of Moral Objectivity.

As it says in Job 9:23 (CEV) = 23 When a good person dies a sudden death,
God sits back and laughs.

Then I retract my previous statements, apologies.

I think the bit where it said every muslim must do the pilgrimage was made before there were billions of the buggers. This kind of thing is bound to happen with stupid rules like theirs. Sad but inevitable. It isn't even the first time this has happened.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

I imagine it was said when the Mecca Chamber of Commerce was formed.
I love Candida Moss' book on the alleged persecution of xtians. You come to find out that it was just marketing by the shrines of various "saints" to come up with ever more lurid tales to bring in the pilgrims to make donations.

Creator of the world? Fucker isn't even a half-way decent traffic cop. Some people get all of the good luck. Those 717 people hit the cosmic jackpot and are in paradise. I'll bet that countless tens of thousands in the crowd wish that they had been so lucky as to have died like the 717 did.

"In his famous book Fiqh-us-Sunnah, the late Egyptian scholar Sheikh Sayyed Sabiq (may Allah bless his soul) states:
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The performance of `Umrah is expiation for the sins committed between it and the previous ones. And the reward for Hajj Mabrur (pilgrimage accepted by Allah) is nothing but Paradise." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 3, Book 27, hadith no. 1)
In another Hadith, Ibn Juraij reported on the authority of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This House of Allah (the Ka`bah) is the pillar of Islam; so whosoever heads for it with the intention of performing Hajj or `Umrah is under Allah's Protection. If he should die (during this journey), he will be admitted to Paradise, and if he should return home safely, he will return with reward and gain." (Al-Haythami, Majma` Az-Zawa’id)"
