I'm probably a bad person because I always misread the thread title as Saint Peters boner.

It determined that the earlier results may have been skewed by contamination from fibers used to repair the cloth when it was damaged by fire in the Middle Ages, the British newspaper reported.

Calculations have been made that in order to introduce that much "contamination" into the relic would have required 40 pounds of carbon....which would have been extraordinary as the shroud itself weighs roughly 20 pounds.  Such an amount of "contamination" should have been easily visible even to blind catholic asswipes.
