We reviewed everything they have in the case files and they took a couple of sworn statements. They are not pursuing the homicide charge, only the CSC charges. It's really just beginning but so far I feel pretty good. Appreciate everyone's support here!
Wow, that's great news. I am sure God was with you, giving you strength, and I hope this whole ordeal just brings you even more closure.
Whether they pursue the homicide case or not, I don't think matters so much. So long as he get's put away where he cant hurt anyone else.
Please continue to keep us updated. Will be praying for you.

Yeah mostly it was surreal, reviewing pictures of where I grew up and pictures taken of me and my siblings as kids. Reading statements from people we knew. The investigators were really confident about this and kept expressing their sympathy. I even got to speak with the chief you apologized for the departments mishandling of the case, even though he was probably graduating high school at the time. I'm eager for this to get started now and see where it all leads.

Late getting to this, but I'm happy you went through with it, and I'm happy it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.
Like I said, you totally got this.

The atheist translation.

Yeah we do do that translation bit.
Seriously though. I'm very glad, for whatever reason, it turned out to be easier than you expected.

MAJOR UPDATE! They served the indictment for the counts of CSC and my step-father told investigators and his public defender that he wanted to plead guilty on all counts and forego a trial. He's set for sentencing 11/9/15. District Attorney told me that he will most likely get consecutive 20 year sentences so considering his age (68) he will never be in public again.

That is great news! Obviously it's sad that it's your father having to be the one going to jail. But this is as good an outcome as you could hope for in the circumstances, I suppose.
So does this mean it's all over from your point of view?
