Some justice finally got done in the case that sparked the BLM movement.

TULSA, Okla. — A white former Oklahoma police officer was convicted of first-degree manslaughter in the off-duty fatal shooting of his daughter's black boyfriend after jurors in three previous trials couldn't decide whether to find him guilty of murder.

Jurors deliberated about six hours Wednesday night before finding ex-Tulsa officer Shannon Kepler, 57, guilty of the lesser charge in the August 2014 killing of Jeremey Lake, 19, who had just started dating Kepler's daughter, Lisa, then 18.

The jury is recommending a 15 year sentence. We'll see what the judge orders at sentencing in November.

Cops Taser 86-year-old unarmed black man for his own safety — leaving him in intensive care

An 86-year-old black man from Sorth Carolina has been placed in intensive care after a police officer used a Taser gun on him.

The  reports that 86-year-old Albert Chatfield was sent to the hospital after a confrontation with a Kingstree Police Officer Stephen Sweikata, who said he deployed a Taser on Chatfield because he was worried for the man’s safety.

Chatfield’s family’s attorney, Justin Bamberg, said that it simply defied belief that an 86-year-old dementia patient was such an apparent threat that he needed to be Tasered.

“If you cannot restrain an 86-year-old, you need to eat some spinach,” he said.

After a series of high-profile police shootings, police departments across the nation turned to body cameras, hoping they would curb abuses. But a rigorous study released Friday shows that they have almost no effect on officer behavior.

The 18-month study of more than 2,000 police officers in Washington found that officers equipped with cameras used force and prompted civilian complaints at about the same rate as those who did not have them.

Why should they care?  They have seen their pals in the DAs office make excuses for them time after time no matter how many murders are photographed.
