His targeting of Christians means one thing, the GOP has managed to expand their tent on the love of guns.
It is not impossible for non religious to be non church goers, agnostics, or atheists and support the economic right, and no rules gun nuttery.
But unfortunately, just like when the Atheist murdered the Mulsims I'm NC, what will get ignored is that the vast majority of atheists do condemn violence.
But what all these killers have in common is worhip of Guns.
I do hate religion, I will never apologize for saying that. But I do not hate my species ability to be compassionate. You can hate a claim as an idea but that doesn't mean you hate everything a person might claim.
There is a huge difference between rights and credibility of a claim. If you shoot unarmed people who are no threat to you I couldn't give a shit what your reason is. Fuck you!

A baby was shot and killed in Cleveland over the weekend. Blacks and whites, victims of all gun violence, their families need to stand up to the GOP, gun industry, corporate lobbists and lack of investment.

The problem is identifying the mentally unstable people.
The real problem would be to identify the "potentially" unstable people.

I honestly don't think it will ever happen. There are so many factors contributing to this problem that it would take well-thought, comprehensive reform to truly address the problem. Our government can barely sustain itself let alone tackle a problem as complex as this.
Plus, there's a deeply rooted distrust of our government in our culture, which is warranted to some degree, but many people see any intervention on guns by this distrusted government as leaving them vulnerable and violating their rights. I've actually met someone that only votes for who the National Rifle Association tells him to, because guns mean that much to him. A lot of Americans don't want any gun regulation no matter what happens. Some like to think our easy access to guns doesn't contribute to the problem, and some just don't care.
