Whoah! I see the fucked up level of my dreams is actually par for the course.

I've often had dreams where I feel like I'm possessed, and forced to do something bad. Then I'm given control back, and I'm left to deal with the consequences. I'm always racked with guilt, and can't believe what I have done. It really feels like my brain is experimenting on itself, seeing how I would react to situations I would never manufacture in real life.

I have dreams that I am flying around in multicolored shit. I've had dreams where I'm in a massive poppyfield with a Diplodocus ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplodocus ) dinosaur. I've had dreams where R2D2 from Star Wars is guarding a farm gate and won't let me in but is silent on the matter of why not.

I've had dreams where my grandmother died and she got reincarnated as a Brachiosarus dinosaur (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brachiosaurus) except her head was still her human head on top of the dinosaur body, and she reached over into the upper story window of a giant block of flats that I was living in in the dream saying "IT'S ME! IT'S ME! I'M STILL ALIVE! I'M STILL ALIVE!" In her usual human voice.

I've dreamt that I had the exact same green laser beamy power as the kid from the game Heart of Darkness, and I was knocking down skyscrapers with it.

I've dreamt I could fly with my bare arms many times.

I used to have this recurring dream of a white house, in a field, just in front of a forest. The house was like a scale model of a mansion, not much bigger than a doll's house, but inside it was normal-sized.
Every time I went in there, different crazy shit would go down. I'd get chased by monsters one night, see general trippy shenanigans the next. Even though it was well over 15 years ago, I can still perfectly visualise the house, in that field, in front of the forest.

I've always had a weird dream where I own a house - a BIG two story or more, place - and no matter how nice it is, there are always a couple of rooms that are basically open to the outside, holes in the walls or the floor is collapsing or something similar.

And, invariably, there's a secret doo to a crawlspace in an upstairs wardrobe.

Oh yeah, recently I've been having dreams that I'm back working at McDonald's. They're frighteningly real and in them I've usually lost my current job and have had to start again from scratch.
Now I think about it, I don't think I've ever had scarier dreams in my life...

My nightmares usually involve someone I trust or trusted at some point, sending me on a mission/task of some kind that always turns out to be a red herring. I'm always aware of this beforehand, yet I proceed with the task knowing full well that I'm being misled.

The trap always involves horrendously gruesome suffering, gore, torture and terror...the absolute sickest shit imaginable. I always end up having to fight my way through some sort of violent, bloody labyrinth. Last night it was a prison, sometimes it's a warehouse...sometimes it's a whole town.

I haven't dreamt (and remembered it) it all week, but one of the ones I most remember was a nightmare I had as a kid the night I saw Jurassic Park:

My mom came and picked me up from the babysitter's house and on the drive home I looked out the back window and saw a velociraptor chasing the car. When I checked the next time it was a bouncing velociraptor chasing behind the car and bouncing like a 100 feet into the air. The NEXT time I checked it was a flying velociraptor chasing the car. I finally convinced my mom to pull the car over and I ran inside this big mostly-empty warehouse/showroom place and hid behind one of those cardboard display things that was in the corner. The velociraptor came in after me (they ca work doorknobs, dontcha know?) and it immediately found me, picked me up and started eating me.

I was like 8 or 9 years old when I had this dream.

Two nightmares I had years ago, but stayed with me:

1. I was 7-8 years old, and I had a dream that my mom was in a wheelchair.

2. More recently (like 10+ years ago) I had a dream that me and some unknown love of my life were at a bowling alley. Something happened, and she was on the ground hurt.

Suddenly, I'm trying to give her air with one of those oxygen masks emergency crews have in ambulances, the kind with the air bladder you have to manually squeeze. The bladder was light blue, and I remember feeling the seam where it's sealed shut in the palm of my hand. I'm looking down at her, but I can't see her face. Partly because of the mask, partly because there's just nothing there to see because this person isn't real. I know she's dying, and I'm trying to be brave while telling her it'll be alright. And then I woke up.

Both of those messed me up for a day or two after having them.

Most recently, I've had a few dreams where me and my ex/current friend were back together romantically. Waking up and facing reality just kills me after some of them.

That place is a living fucking nightmare if you ever need to find your way out in a hurry!
