RE the OP. This "accidental shooting" business happens with at least some regularity...but it's an 11 year old that finally gets charged? Well, okay...maybe the kid had murder in it's heart....but don't we have a mountain of "Accidental Discharge" cases concerning adults to sift through before we get to stringing up the kiddies?

My country has nearly as liberal gun laws as the US. Accordingly, the numbers of gun deaths are high. Mostly people topping themselves, but hardly a month goes by without some kid getting hold of daddies piece to top some relative. The OP case aside, I wonder what it must be like, growing up with the burden of having greeted auntie with 2 barrels to the face.

It's so odd to me that a child would want to kill another child. I wanted to beat someone up from time to time and actually did so but shooting them was not a thought of mine. I even owned guns as a kid. I had my Ruger 10-22 in my room with me. |
