I wish someone would have asked him about this in the question and answer period, particularly instead of a couple of the really lame questions.

On the other hand, I was unimpressed with how he responded to the question about love.  He does not seem to keep his story straight, as he seems to think it appropriate to still love some people, but that we should stop hating people because they cannot help being bad.  People not being able to help what they are should apply equally to both.  So he seems to be quite inconsistent in his stance.

I don't agree. He has explained before that it leaves room open for love but not hate and agree with him.

Ultimate moral responsibility is not a requirement for love.

I can feel lover for animals outside the human race and they're not morally responsible

I can feel love for babies and children before the age of reason, and they aren't fully morally responsible.

I can feel love for severely mentally handicapped people and they aren't fully morally responsible.

I could never bring myself to hate any of these groups of individuals.

It absolutely leaves room for love, but not for hate. Sam Harris' reasoning skills are wonderful.

I'm sure the good 'ol church boys were proclaiming love the sinner but not the sin as the fire melted the heretic's flesh too.

They can proclaim it all they want but that doesn't make it truly compassionate/loving.

...

What is the explanation of that?  Since you agree with him, presumably you know what it was he said about this.
