It's obvious that God's plans suck and people want a better deal.  One of the earliest examples in the Bible was when Abraham negotiated with the God character over the number of righteous people in Sodom.  But prayer didn't work for Jesus.

Prayer is a worthless waste of time.  All scientific studies on prayer have failed.  Time spent on your knees, mumbling to yourself and begging the ceiling for the petition of the day - ugh.
