Are you out of the closet?

Outside of this forum, I don't tend to discuss religious matters much. People generally figure out my stance through subtext. When asked directly, I simply tell the truth. It's worked out fine, at least up until a few days ago when my family finally figured things out and asked me point-blank.
Suffice it to say, things did not go well. Not at all. 
Same here never really talk about it outside these forums.
Most of my friends know i'm an atheist, they don't really care that I am since I don't broadcast it often. My parents don't know though. Some of my classmates know, but since I live in the bible belt your bound to cross the evangelical kid, there was once a classmate who asked me if I worshiped the devil during the middle of class.
How embarrassing. Ugh I hate stupid fuckers who say stupid shit like that about atheists.

Yeah if I come across as hateful I'm not really at all.
I hate no one I just get frustrated when sometimes the bigotry from the religious never ends.
I seriously think religious indoctrination should be seen as child abuse. It teaches kids about school subjects wrong and isolates them socially and represses them sexually. That's not even talking about if the child is gay. There's a reason 40% of street kids are LGBT.
I understand that argument.
Problem is there are more religious people than non-religious so the government isn't about to be unbiased on the matter. RE: Are you out of the closet?

I know it'll never happen, thats the sad truth of the matter. I know a few people who homeschool their kids for religious reasons. It just breaks my heart that those kids are being brainwashed into a cult and being taught subjects wrong and don't even know it.
