why i believe in Islam?

why i believe in Islam?
First of all I want to show respect in the way you think as most of the people in the world are following the religion of their parents and defending it blindly without even thinking. I was born in a Muslim family but in some stage I start thinking what if my parents were wrong? And I started searching for proves and studying different religions and beliefs so I can find the truth also I had a believe that if there is a book that is said to be from god it must prove itself don’t come and tell me that there was a miracle happened hundreds of years and that’s the proof. God is justice if god gave some people a miracle so that they become believers he will give us a proof too. In this message am not trying to make u become a Muslim I just want to clarify the truth about this religion and removing any misconception about it. And I will try to tell u from the point of view of a Muslim and what is said to the unbelievers through the Quran.

at the end i want all of u to feel free asking me any question about my beliefs and about islam and i will also make another thread for refuting misconceptions about islam

RE: why i believe in Islam?
Firstly this is preaching.

Secondly the so called "Some of the scientific miracles in the Quran" were never mentioned before they had been discovered by science.
If it was in the qur'an for 1400 years, why did no one speak of it within those 1400 years?

It's intellectual dishonesty in it's finest form.
Also a merciful god wouldn't send people to hell for eternity, so merciful and forever punishment is a contradiction.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

first:the Quran havnt been changed from 1400 years the reason that no one mentioned it because they didnt have the tools to prove it wrong and the muslims believed it as a fact as they believe in the Quran for a lot of other reasons i mentioned some of them

second:god told u what to do so u dont go to hell if u just ignore it its ur problem and its also not that hard to do.god is merciful and he is also justice.thats is my personal opinion and if i continue that will b preaching so i will stop there and get back to the original thread

Apparently all your 'searching' didn't take you past simple muslim literature. Here's your #1 and three 'proofs' against it.

Quote:1-The Quran itself provides us with the test of authenticity and offers challenges against itself and prove its veracity ALLAH tells us in the Quran

"haven't the unbelievers considered if this was from other than Allah, they would find within it many contradictions?" (Quran chapter 4:82)

The Quran was revealed in 23 years (from 1400 years), yet there are not any contradictory points in it

About Strong drink;

16:67
And of the fruits of the date-palm, and grapes, whence ye derive strong drink and (also) good nourishment. Lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who have sense.

2:219
Strong drink and games of chance. Say: In both is great sin.

-------
How long is a day to Alllah?

22:47
A Day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon. 32:5 He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.

70:4
Unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years.

--------
How long did Allah take to create the earth?

7:54 Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days.

41:9-12
Say (O Muhammad, unto the idolaters): Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days ... He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days ... Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days....

You have been lied to.

I think the qur'an has been changed. Parts have been written in to make it look as if you had the knowledge the whole time while your only opting for intellectual dishonesty.

Didn't have the tools to prove it wrong? Huh? So people believed this (in other words they had been tought this) and yet no one bothered to mention it? Makes no sense...AT ALL!
If it was in the qur'an for 1400 years, why wasn't this spoken of? If you had the knowledge right there you could just teach it. I have every reason to believe that it was never in the qur'an before it was discovered by science. That this is intellectual dishonesty in it's finest form.

Firstly god hasn't told me a damn thing but if he did it would probably be something smart. Also, I don't reject or ignore god, I reject the claim that he exists. Big differance. If god allows immoral torture for the dumbest of reasons then he is neither all loving nor all smart. He's a villain and a dictator.

God is not merciful if he allows never ending torture. It is a contradiction.

RE: why i believe in Islam?
So now you told us at length why you believe, what evidence can you provide me that I should believe it?

If your religion is so wonderful, why are women forced to wear sacks over their heads?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

RE: why i believe in Islam?
You still face the problem that, as xtianity and judaism are two loads of crap anything derived from them must also be a load of crap. One more manifestation of the Angry Desert God belief which is based on faulty premises is hardly convincing.

You cannot build a house on a foundation of sand.

RE: why i believe in Islam?
And there is still no positive proof of a god - It is (by definition) not possible to find something that is not described by materialism, but requires a god. Because if it would be, the laws of nature, as we know them would have to be changed.

The concept of religion has proven inferior to natural science in describing the world we perceive. Science is not antagonistic to religion but it is its successor. It simply doesn't matter which religion you belong to - they are all similarly obsolete.

RE: why i believe in Islam?
LOL @ links to Harun Yahya.

He's the dude that made the site entitled "Miracles of the Qur'an", where he makes claims that the Quran talks about planes, the Big Bang Theory, and lots of other future developments.

He's also a creationist that made a book denouncing evolution, but failing to do any actual research on it.

Here's Richard Dawkins' explanation:
