Second, if you insinuate that since Islam is the fastest growing religion it must be the correct religion, then you're clearly making an argumentum ad populum.

its not proving anything more than that you have been mislead by the media and that if what you are claiming regarding women is true there will be no women converting to islam

We have already established that the Muslim religion itself doesn't necessarily condone the mistreatment or oppression of women (still debatable), but that such treatment and oppression is more the fault of Middle Eastern/Islamic society. Americans that convert to Islam are still Americans living in American society, where the mistreatment and oppression of women is not the norm (anymore). So... Middle Eastern Muslims born and raised in that society and Americans converting to Islam, but still born and raised in America... can't even be properly compared.

The point is meaningless, even if it were true.

MSNBC also reported recently that more and more black people are leaving religion entirely. That is significant, since the vast majority of American black people are quite religious. That point, just like yours, really means and proves nothing in the long run.

Women probably convert DESPITE the oppression due to being gullible to promised threats and briberies. Both are said to be inflicted by your god in the alleged afterlife. I don't know the islamic specifics though on the reward punishment system of the afterlife. That would make an interesting thread. The only thing I know so far is the very funny stuff mentioned in this video.
