I'm pretty sure Mike Huckabee and the like would love us to go closer to a theocracy than we already are, and we're pretty close already. We have god on our money, our court buildings, and our pledge. We have people complaing about prayer being removed from schools as if it should have been there in the first place. People in office are expected to espouse christianity. People complain that bama might be muslim, as if it's a horrible thing if he did actually believe in allah, ignoring the fact that Huckabee would be as bad for this county as a devout muslim.

No our country isn't a theocracy, though not for lack of trying on the christian's part.

We also have homosexual marriage, legal abortion, no prayer allowed in public schools, and are in the process of removing religious symbols from public property.

Read the constitution

Separation of church and state. The church has no business in politics and the government.
No one is stopping you from praying in school no one is stopping a teachers from praying in school or students.
The fact being said teachers cannot lead prayer simple as that.

Did you bother reading the bible the bible is too vague on marriage. The bible doesn't say anything against gay marriage
the only thing is the bible only fucking talks about how bad divorce is and nothing about two men and women cannot be married.
I blame apologists for bending the bible to make it say that because well who was around before eve 2 men god and adam you see
what i am getting at.

legal abortion read the bible a fetus or a child in the womb isn't considered a human being until it is birth so you fail.

There shouldn't be religious symbols on government property end of story we are secular we are not a theocracy. For fucks sakes why do you think America was founded to get the fuck away from the Queen and the Theocracy that they were being ruled under. Also founding fathers not even christians they were deists they didn't believe  in a Abrahamic god.

Unfortunately, there's always going to be that kind of stuff going on between people of different beliefs, if not for religious differences, then for political ones. But our system of government works better than others in that regard. Regardless, as history has shown, there is always going to be the tyranny of the majority toward the minority. I don't say it's right, but it's hard to fight.

Otherwise known as democracy when it's at home. It kind of comes with the territory that the majority decides. Rightly or wrongly.

That's "Christian persecution?" Shock

I don't like you no morez.

No.  It's not persecution.  They are examples showing that we do tolerate other than christian ideas.  We are a nation with a secular government.  We are still a majority christian nation, but we are not even close to being a theocracy.

Tyranny? The constitution is there to protect minorities. When there's just 2.5 Christians left in America, the constitution will still protect their right to religious practice. What it won't protect is any desire they may have to put their religious beliefs into law, as it should be.

You'll get over it. So will your imaginary friend.

Quote:legal abortion

Yes, but that won't stop Christian men from trying to worm their way into women's uteruses and doctors' offices -- two places they are not welcome.

Quote:no prayer allowed in public schools

Bullshit. You are either lying through your teeth or inexplicably ignorant of what the SC has ruled when it comes to prayer in public schools. Do your research.

Quote:and are in the process of removing religious symbols from public property

Ok, either we remove all religious symbols from public property (my preference), or you get used to the idea that all religious symbols go on public property. Think how nice some Satanic monument will look next to your grotesque cross. Oh, you don't like that? Well, tough shit. Christians don't have a unique claim on public property. Either none or all: pick your poison.

Well with marriage equality you know why it took so long for it to be legal blame the "loving" christians. Pretty much that's that.
All in all if you give religion power even a tiny crumb of power it will do something detrimental too people and will cause harm. Look at the
catholic church for example they move around priests that rape kids and they go to africa and spread their anti contraception mumbo jumbo
in Africa causing the aids population which was doing very well to go back on the rise. With all that money what does the Vatican church do with it they don't even go out their way with their money to help others. Hell even the pope said kim davis did the right things the pope pretty much is a bigot like every other bigot except with money and power.

Tolerate? What would be the alternative. Also you might want to look up Gallup polls on what Americans think on social issues like the ones you mention. You might be in for some big surprise.

According to the letter it will, but in realty there will be discrimination against the minority.
