NC Church Caught Practicing Christianity - Neighbors Complain
November 2, 2015 at 7:33 pm
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

I think this is partly because politicians don't like shoveling money into safety net programs, and act like the poor are lazy moochers. So when they see people paying for construction for the sake of sheltering the homeless, they think wastefullness instead of Jesus.

Could have been worse. Could have been called Golden Showers.
Wait, there's a difference? I've been taking offense at what my Christian friend says for no reason? Oops!

This sounds exactly like what my parents/my ex church members would have said. i.e. You can go ahead and do that just not anywhere around us. We can't afford to be associated with that sort.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Do you know any liberal atheist groups that oppose housing for the homeless? Granted they may oppose pushing religion on the homeless people who need a roof over their head, but I think the complaint is about spending money to shelter them.
