The tourist attraction ad copy theory of truth. I would usually contend that no one was this stupid..but I'm willing to let you make me a believer.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Ok so you are backpedaling off your own source...
Sure Huggy..that's exactly what's happening. Is there anything else you'd like to say?

This is painful. Someone please put Huggy out of his misery.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
That should do it and Huggy should be honored. RE: The Tower of Babel

I'm struggling to understand what the alternative is here. The guy who built it is a sorcerer or something? This is the best use he could think of for his powers; and then he retired them?
Or God decided this fucking castle was more important than curing AIDS? Feel free to send me a private message.

Best I can figure, this bloke rediscovered the ancient tech that was used to build the Great Pyramid and the Babel tower, and decided to use it to build a huge folly/theme park instead of for the good of mankind; and as a cover-up, he did it with mundane old trucks and levers when anyone was watching.

That sounds like a sensible null hypothesis.

I remember watching documentaries that showed how Egyptians built pyramids including some earlier pyramids where they messed up and stopped building them and used that for teaching themelves.
Like this BBC documentary that was made in collaboration with historians and archaeologists, but I guess producers should have gone to Huggy instead
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
