Thanks very much for the insights
Hey Violet! Good to hear from you. I wouldn't presume to try and label what you described, I'll be happy with your own assessment. I hope you're well?
I have had thoughts in my head about killing people, but not what I'd call serious ones. There is never any danger in my mind that I'd actually do any of the things I'm imagining. It's just mental "play".

I've been through a divorce, so the idle thought has crossed my mind but nothing more. xD

I sketched out plans to kill my mother, AKA the most evil person I've ever known, when I was younger. If I'd stayed in that godsforsaken hellhole for much longer, I honestly don't know if I could've resisted the urge to snap her fucking neck and have done with it, damn the consequences. That's something I'm still coming to terms with to be honest, even if I've not felt anger like that in quite some years.

I saw the post about someone thinking about committing murder. Honestly I find it weird because I've never been tempted to outright kill someone. Beat them badly, perhaps, but not premeditated murder. Not that you can beat someone half to death without there being a risk that they'd die from it.
I have anger management issues, but even I have never wanted to kill someone.

Only thought about it, and that was almost always when I was in a drunken/drugged rage. In that rage I considered it a justifiable homicide, "They needed killin!". Luckly once I sobered up the thoughts went away. Never did like those highs or that part of my psyche.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

That's preposterous! I have never murdered anybody. Pffft... No way... Why would I ever do something like that?... I mean - the insurance money was barely enough to cover my gambling debts to the mob... And they never even found that wood-chipper. So there...
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Why? What did you hear?

I've thought about other people thinking about it. Haha Does that count? Sometimes I try to put myself in a murderer's shoes to see what caused them to commit murder. But also just to see how well the shoe fits. The more heinous the act, the harder I find it to relate to the person, or to find little external excuses for them.
Then, sometimes I'll find myself in a tough situation and I'll wonder if this would be enough to trigger a murderer. I'm kind of putting a murderer in my shoes to see how they'd handle it, which is, in effect, me fantasizing about murderering in certain situations. It's kind of a fun exercise along the lines of enjoying a movie with a murder plot.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."
For context, this is the previous verse:

How would you rate yourself on this scale? The poll is anonymous so it's up to you whether you elaborate in the thread.
By murder, I mean a planned act of killing someone, not a heat of the moment event.
I am in the first category.
The only person I have seriously considered ending is myself. There are some people who I would not consider a loss to humanity though.

Because 'murder' and 'killing' don't mean the same thing. Two hypotheticals: 1) You have a really amazing motorcycle that you stupidly refuse to sell to me. I shove you in a wood chipper and take the bike. This qualifies as 'murder', since there isn't a possible moral argument which makes a motorcycle worth as much (or more) than a human life. 2). You're my best friend, and you are diagnosed with a debilitating, excruciatingly - but non-fatal - disease, and you ask for my help in ending your life. To end your suffering, I break into a pharmacy and steal enough of the right kind of drugs to kill you. This then becomes a premeditated killing, but it is NOT a murder.
Ok, pontificating aside, I was once offered 3000 quid to kill someone. I considered it for a week before I declined, so I suppose Option 3 suits me best.
