Please. Europe never pulled a Bush. We prefer openly proclaimed dictators who don't act overly dumb ib public. Btw it's funny how so many people are so concerned with the far right and repercussions and not with what is happening right now. Europe will get what it deserves for being dumb and suicidal. The lesser evil will prevail

Who said Europe ever pulled a Bush? I said I don't want them to pull a Bush. And who said I am just concerned about our right. This is about human nature in reaction to horror, not labels.

I am 49, I have never witnessed in person any type of mass violence, but I have seen it in the news since I was a kid, this is nothing new. What I don't like about my species is how we far too often allow attacks on the west waste resources that cause more economic resources than the response was worth.

Bush especially, he treated mere thugs like heroic armies and he didn't simply go after Osama's gang, he invaded the entire country. Then he used that as an excuse to start another war. And it was all because Cheney/

I am fine with going after them, but we need to stop using the word "terrorist" and simply call them street gang thug criminals.

There seems to be a lot of fear-mongering going on here - by people like Min - about Muslims worldwide. Why not look at yourself in the mirror and ask why you are not to blame as a financial supporter of military operations, which are often more likely to provoke such attacks, than simply the fact of being Muslim?

Nestor that's grossly unfair. Even if you disagree with Min, he didn't massacre 100+ people in a concert hall just now.

Terrorist attacks aren't justified. Your post almost reads like an apologist for this stuff, as if Charlie Hebdo 'brought it on themselves' for doing things like drawing a cartoon about Mohammed. I know you don't hold that position, but is this really a good grounding to stop attacking an organisation like ISIS, which exists to cause misery to everyone, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, to those who don't agree with their beliefs?

I speak as someone who 100% supports the refugees fleeing from war torn Syria and Iraq and who also 100% supports the obliteration of organisations like ISIS and their belief systems from the face of the earth.

To reiterate, 100+ people it seems have been massacred in the Bataclan Concert Hall. Unjustifiable regardless of how you perceive this. Outright, cold blooded murder.

How are you going to tell the difference?

That is the question you should be asking yourself. If you murder an innocent person in response to this what would you say to their families?

I've seen it happen here in America. Not just with Muslims, but with gang violence. Just last week some assholes street gang murdered a 9 year old to get even with a rival parent. Almost every year I hear about some domestic shoot out or gang shootout where someone not involved in it ends up dead.

Right after 9/11 a Sikh was murdered in Texas because some asshole mistook him for a Muslim.
We also had an ATHEIST here in NC  murdered three Muslims over a parking space, two of the three were a couple studying in college to become dentists, here in my state. You cant let paranoia blind you like that. Let the police force and government deal with it. Don't respond like a gang member with mob rule.

I am no fan of an Eye for an Eye. I am only for measured responses and having a planned in and out that minimizes harm to civilians. Carpet bombing because of an emotional reaction long term has a tendency to perpetuate a problem, not solve it.

No-one really trusts the motives of the US govt.
That's fine, have a war, both sides are to blame.

Religion only amplifies the hatred and xenophobia by a million percent. That's all.
Eg: are we really entitled to a democracy if we offend Muslims with our way of life?

Or do we say, fuck you, and protect it at all cost?

You're right that Min didn't massacre 100+ people in a concert hall just now. Neither did 99.99999% of Muslims, whom he would wish to blame. If I sound like an Islamist apologist, it's only fair to point out that you - in your defense of his xenophobia - sound like an apologist for the sick disease of right-wing nationalism that is also infiltrating France at this moment.

I would say that the millions of Muslim refugees from Syria et al view our democracies as much more preferable to their own current failed states.

I know it's tired discourse but a lot of Muslims I know are just as horrified by this as I am. That's not to say that I don't find Islam detestable as a belief system because I do, but most Muslims are just normal people going about their day. The people that get offended by democratic freedoms tend to be the most vocal, and their narrative needs to be continually challenged, be it through dialogue or militarily.

A lot of people are put off by the latter but it's a reality of the century we live in that we will need military intervention as well (again, in Syria as an example).

Oh just fuck off with that bullshit man. If I sound like an apologist for right ring nationalism then get your fucking ears checked. If you knew anything about me or my politics then you'd know I am as far from fucking political extremism as it's possible to get.

I am reiterating that the point you forwarded is another form of 'you reap what you sow' - I.e. Apologist for terrorism and indeed extremism.
