Either way, I don't see it as God working like a wizard with a magic wand, inflicting people with it for some kind of purpose. I see it as Him allowing the natural course of things to happen, just as He did so when we evolved. And I explained in my other post why I do not believe this makes him an evil being.
You seem to be implying the universe is something distinct from god. But wouldn't you say god created everything. Then, he basically is everything. We don't live in the universe then, we live in God. Everything that is evil is god. It couldn't be anything else but God, since he created everything. He knew what the natural course of things would be when he created it. So either god is a very bored dude on his laptop, playing a very cool game called Universe, reached the Terra/human age stage of the game, or he's a product of imagination. Which one of those is more likely?

I'm more concerned that my wife might suddenly attack and kill me for no reason than I am about Yahweh being real. And I have absolutely no reason to believe the former would ever happen.
It seems to me like you do worry about your wife doing that. You're just suppressing the thought. Interesting.

No, I don't. I came up with it as an example of something that's least likely to happen out of things that could conceivably happen.

Right...only slightly more than he worries about Gaud existing. He said that already.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

For the record 6 on the Dawkins scale.
Pretty certain Abrahamic Monotheism is bunch of lies from the start at this point.
Deism is indistinguishable from worshipping the Strong Nuclear Force.
Hinduism/Greek/Norse etc. requires more research for a higher confidence interval.

It doesn't matter.
Yes it does. Theistic god - 99.99+% sure doesn't exist. Deistic god - wouldn't notice either way, but about 75% sure doesn't exist.
Cthulhu, exists for realises 1 billion percent

I consider the hypothesis so ridiculous and lacking evidence that I am essentially a 6.999999.
7 is logically indefensible.
I feel the same way about any god that I presume you feel about Thor or Mithra.
Tell me about something that wouldn't be logically indefensible as a 7 on that scale. That's why I would call myself a 7. There's a time and place for allowing uncertainty. In this context, I'm perfectly confortable with taking that further step to a 7.
Comfort isn't much of an indicator. I have no doubt that Drich is mighty comfy as a 1 and would be much less comfortable if he tried to adopt any other position.
Certainty itself is probably the most comfortable position to adopt. But uncertainty toward unsupported claims, while less comfortable, creates less distortion in the brain.

There is a difference between feeling certain but being willing to consider new evidence and arguments, and just having your mind made up regardless and not being interested in the truth.
