Don't get me wrong, she's got a couple of songs I like -- "Like a Prayer" and "Ray of Light" are both well-written and I like the arrangements -- but her 80s output is largely crap, to my ears. 
All I know of Madonna is like a virgin and die another day. I never got into her at all except for die another day and that was just cos I liked the film and the soundtrack. But I haven't got a clue really about any of her other songs.
