Yes. Good move. Nothing reduces terrorism as much as collective guilting and vindictive harassment. Besides, Burka is as essential to the female suicide bomber as the detonator. Deprive them of it, and their bombs become duds.
But What happens if they walk into a crowded theater naked faced, and then whip out a burka before any security personnel can react, cover their face, and detonate the bomb anyway? Btw, just as burka is an piece of equipment essential to the female Islamic extremist, I understand beards are just as essential to the male Islamic extremist. So it is essential to ban beards as well. By the way, democratic mainland China led the way in banning the burka. Did it even before it was talked about in France. It is high time the supposedly democratic countries of the west followed suit. And yes, they do ban beards in parts of China where there are too many Muslims.
It seems to be just one Canton.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...anton.html Quote:Just over 65 per cent of voters in the Italian-speaking region of Ticino voted in favour of banning the veil, according to preliminary votes of Sunday's referendum. Still, not a bad idea - as long as they can wear whatever the fuck they wish in private.
I support banning anything that doesn't allow facial recognition. Goodbye burka, you won't be missed.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
According to the US, as long as there is freedom of religion, this country won't ban certain articles of clothing, rituals or other things based solely on religioin. IOW: if, in this country, someone's religious beliefs allow them to violate rules of law where certain things are banned, then they will be allowed to do or wear such things. Example: at my school, the dress code specifies NO HATS to be worn with the exclusion of wearing a head covering for one's religious beliefs. So, yeah, a student can actually wear a burka, because it's considered a religious garment (or one can claim it to be), but they can't wear a baseball cap with their favorite team logo on it.

Suppose you really, really, love baseball?
I support the banning of anything that hides your identity in public, in certain circumstances.
For instance, people should not be allowed to walk around wearing motorcycle helmets. Riding is one thing, but when you get off your bike, the helmet comes off. Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
As much as I hate burqas and what they stand for, a person should have the freedom to wear whatever they want or whatever they think they want.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
