let me tell you a story. Once there was a jewish tribe called Banu Qurayza. They were allies of muslims but they didn't participate to Battle of the Trench. After that battle Muhammed claimed that Banu Qurayza betrayed to muslims. so he sieged their fortress, and they surrendered. Do you know what was Muhammed's punishment? Yes, he cut every men's (including ones barely of his full age) heads off. women and children? well they are just enslaved..

I think you are bit exaggerating.
I agree that sometimes history is hardly objective but comparing it with religion is cruel.. And at least it is verifiable.

All history has to be read with an eye on the motives or agenda of the author. Particularly in antiquity there is precious little that can be cross-referenced.

Well, you could start by telling me what evidence you have that Muhammad actually spoke with God.

Every religion indulges in special pleading. "Our prophets told the truth, yours lied. Our god is real, your isn't. Our scripture is true, yours is just made up stories. Etc." But Islam actually takes that to a new level. To believe in Islam is to believe that the Christians got it all wrong about Jesus and yet the only way Muhammad could have heard about Jesus was from the Christians.

Muhammad isn't just claiming "I'm right and they're wrong" as other religions do. He's claiming to know Jesus better than the people he heard about Jesus from. He's claiming to understand Jesus better than the people who were part of the church established by the people who allegedly knew the alleged Jesus. He's claiming that God sat by and watched the Jews and Christians get it wrong for over a thousand years, did nothing to correct them, and then one day decides to speak to some guy in a different land and that's the best way to correct the problem?

Now Christianity also has a problem as the supposed successor religion to Judaism. Examination of the OT reveals that Christianity owes much of its dogma to pagan religions. However, it at least makes the effort to construct a slick marketing package to mislead the unwary. You have to dig deep into scripture and history to learn the extent of the con job.

By contrast, Muhammad seems to have sloppily slapped a religion together with claims no more believable to the outsider than those of the guy on the street with the sign about the coming end of the world who sells pencils at the corner. Why shouldn't I believe he was simply the Joseph Smith of his day?

So, you tell me, am I missing something?
