You know those people who say they believe the Bible is true and inerrant, but then when you get specific you find out that's really a blanket statement and they have, in fact, cherry-picked the rules they like? It's probably the same phenomenon.

"So you believe in Sharia law?"

"Of course! I'm a good Muslim!"

"So you believe apostate Muslims should be killed?"

"What?! No! I'm no BARBARIAN! That law was written for specific people of a specific time, and you have to put it in context, and you have to understand the cultural relevance of..."

"So then you DON'T believe in Sharia Law."

"YES I FUCKING DO WERE YOU NOT LISTENING?!"

Good point.

I'm sure every Muslim has their own idea. Those that have the freedom to think for themselves without being killed, that is.

Not necessarily. Sharia can be interpreted in different ways. Not everyone who believes in Sharia believes that Allah actually wants adulterers to receive the death penalty or thieves to have their hands chopped off.
