Fictional friends
|
I'll have to think about this. If I do choose one it will need to be obscure and one that no one else will want. Fiction coming to life I will not want to share.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Half the characters from Discworld, DCI Mallory and Iron Man
In no particular order.
Serana from Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC. She's a survivor, a strong "woman" (vampire), and the first time I ever had that weird connection to any sort of AI/computer character. Phaedra from the Kushiel books. It's hard to express how much her character and the books she is in helped me become comfortable with myself. There's no short way to summarize what they're about, but she made BDSM something I no longer hide, but defend with pride in myself and others, and she's the sort of woman I like (like Princess Leia) - maybe not trained to be a warrior, but not afraid to get her hands dirty, and a firm believer in intellect and knowledge. Kíli, as portrayed by the movies, he and I would cut up all day every day. Peggy Carter, per the Agent Carter TV series. First of all, Hayley Atwell is my spirit animal. Second of all, Peggy Carter is everything I want to be when I grow up. Both the character and the real life actress are amazing and I want to have pajama parties with either one of them. Can you tell I dig the style? Breeze, from Mistborn, who doesn't have a good image I can find, because he is snappy and flippant all the time, but a good hearted man underneath. I think of him when I think of how good leaders in a community should be.
Important question: when you say *friend*, do you mean friend or friend? Because my answer may depend on how much the friendship, uh... develops
How will we know, when the morning comes, we are still human? - 2D
Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.
#1 - Lee from Steinbeck's East of Eden. He is funny, wise, and seems like he would be a cool drinking buddy.
#2 - JD & Turk from Scrubs. Eaaagggllleeee! #3 Chance and Shadow from Homeward Bound.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Off the top of my head I'd have to say Slartibartfast. Not only did he create the fjords, but it would just be awesome to say "Slartibartfast" all of the time.
I'll think about it some more and see if I can pick a better one.
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Monkey D Luffy (One Piece) Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) Everyone else in all fiction can fuck off :3 If you have any serious concerns, are being harassed, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me via PM
Oh, if we're talking animals, I would love to be friends with Oberon from the Iron Druid series. If you haven't heard the audiobook versions of those, you SHOULD just to hear the wacky Irish Wolfhound talking.
They're such adorable derps.
It is hard to separate characters from their fictional worlds. Like if I friend Gandalf, will there be a middle earth, will he be in our world but with magic?
In no particular order; Scrooge McDuck The ocean from Solaris Data from ST TNG Korben and Leeloo Dallas from the fifth element
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
