Yes, except we don't know what that ultimate purpose for sin is, apart from using it to punish or not punish us. Going back to the hammer analogy, the purpose is either:
- To showcase the hammer and/or to show when it's not being used, or
- Some unstated purpose. Maybe there is some other purpose analogous to "hold stuff together", but I haven't heard what that is, yet.

Yeah, I was getting that impression. We've changed topic pages ago from the OP, and this has mostly been you justifying things that don't make sense to me with other things that don't make sense, and me applying terms too broadly in some cases.
